His Presence Comforts Me

I’ve been weak and I’ve been strong I’ve lived through chaos and I’ve lived in calm There have been days when I wondered why And there have been days when I had to sigh
But through it all, the good and bad I’ve seen Him comfort and make me glad I’ve felt His song within my heart I’ve experienced His presence through every part
And when the way was dark and drear I found that He would draw me near And when I was overjoyed by all the good I praised Him out of thankfulness, as I should
For only He does know best Only He controls the test He knows exactly what I need To mold and make me free indeed
Free from self and sin and fear Free from guilt with all its drear Free from the things that make me enslaved Free to live the life He gave
To live for Him with all my being To let Him have, yes every thing I can know joy, and peace, and love And He sends His blessings from above
To strengthen me along the way To cheer and brighten up my day No matter what the day may bring He’s there to help …

Fear Not

Isaiah 41:13 "For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee."

“Fear not”, my Savior whispers
Amidst the stormy blast I scarce can hear Him say it Through the noise I can at last
I listen more intently To His strong yet calming voice I feel that He grows nearer As I continue to make Him my choice
The still small voice gets stronger My fears begin to fade The closer that I get to Him The deeper I dare to wade
The storm still rages around me The waters rough and deep My soul still a little fearful I call out for Him to keep
His hand so strong, grabs hold of mine He draws me to His side My faith driven prayer He has heard And now in Him I hide
The overwhelming situation Is still mine to face But knowing that my God is near Imparts God’s wondrous grace
In the shelter of His arms In the protection of His love I once again can rest my soul With peace from above
The knowledge of His presence The grace that He imparts The comfort of Hi…

A Prayer For Today

Dear Lord Jesus,
It is so comforting to know that I can always come to You for support, or guidance, at any time whether night or day. Thank You for Your free and forgiving love. Thank You that whatever comes or goes in my life I can always be sure that You are mine and I am Yours. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. Thank You for rising again the third day triumphant over sin and death so that I can live a victorious life. Thank You for the scriptures that feed my soul, comfort my heart, and inspire me to live for You. Thank You for all that You have done, are doing, and will do in my heart and life.
Please help me Lord, to keep my heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.") Help me not to live a life fully reliant on emotions which all to often change like the wind. Help me to base my desires and goals on Your word and what Your will is for my life. Help …

Motivation vs. Inspiration

Philippians 4:12-14 "Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

Taken from Body By God, by Dr. Ben Lerner:
"Motivation is driven by earthly desire and a need to gain self satisfaction;
Inspiration is driven by heavenly success and a desire to please God.

Motivation is like showering or brushing your teeth--you need to do it every day;
Inspiration happens once and is there forever.

Motivation can be broken;
Inspiration can be blocked but never truly goes away.

Motivation ends during tough or inconvenient times;
Inspiration endures hardship and failure.

Motivation is like tiptoeing into a cold pool;

John 5:1-17
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, …

When the stress is to the top And I feel I just can't stop Worrying and stressing out I simply need to stop and shout GOD IS IN CONTROL!
When my body feels the strain And my tears are like the rain Or worse yet, I cannot cry Because the problems grow so high I MUST REST IN HIM!
When all I do is a waste of time And I'm pulled out of rhyme When demands come from every side And I want to run and hide HE IS MY SHELTER!
When I am so frazzled I can't think strait And the burdens carry a heavy weight
I feel like I'm crushing beneath the load Trying to call on Him to guide my road I REMEMBER THAT HE'S MY GOD!

God Is Right Here With Me

HE’S RIGHT HERE When my life is overwhelming And I cannot find a song I pray, dear Lord, please help me And somehow comes a calm. I smile inside just in knowing That He still cares for me And while life still rushes onward He gives me faith to see.
He’s right here, among the trials. He’s right here a midst the sorrow Even when I cannot see the way. I know He’ll bring a better day. For I’ve seen it more and more And like eagles I will soar For I know that He cares for me.
He’s right here although I cannot see Him He’s right here I know I feel Him. For only He could ever calm a storm And even though the way is dim I will simply rest and trust in Him For I know that He keeps me from harm.
When my way is peaceful And I look back and see His guiding hand I remember how the way was cloudy, And I remember how He had helped me. It can bring a thankful tear. How overwhelmed with His praise My hand will surely raise I now sing a song with meaning For in my heart I’m worshiping The One who always cares for me.
I’m right here,…

The Potter's Clay

Many times in the Bible we see the child of God referred to as Clay in the hands of the Potter. There are references in Isaiah over and over where God has to crush the vessel of dishonor in order to remake and remold a vessel unto honor fit for the Master's use. In Jeremiah chapter 18 we see a wonderful picture of the Clay and the Potter, or the born again believer and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our text verse is Isaiah 45:9 "Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioned it, What makest thou? or they work, He hath no hands?" Have you ever questioned what God was doing with your life? Ever wonder if He was doing anything at all? Why do all these trials seem to linger and pile up? Why can't anything good happen? Why can't I do anything important or accomplish some great goal instead of standing around accomplishing things that don't amount to anything, only to be redone t…

Loves Healing Balm

There is a pain that is sometimes found Deep within the heart Where the wounds of a friend Have settled in tearing things apart
The pain so intense Can drain you of your strength Weakening the wounded soul To a very helpless length
For the gestures of love misunderstood Have been rejected before The feeling of not being enough Causes hope to darken once more
One gets discouraged with constantly Trying to please another Who misconstrues the intentions And with that doubt the love smothers
The flame once hot is dampened The fear begins to set in In desperate means of protecting Your heart from being hurt again
But deeper than the pain Is a forgiving love unseen The kind of love that Jesus has That learns on hope to lean
Never giving up in spite of the hurt Instead pressing onward Trying yet another time To show the love even though its hard
When every emotion says give up And fight at your own defense You cannot follow your emotions Your heart has more common sense
For even if the love…

A Wounded But Forgiving Heart

John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."Proverbs 10:12"Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins." Have you ever felt the pain of a broken heart Or cried the tears of rejection Have you ever felt the sting of hurtful words  Or fought with thoughts of retaliation
If you have then you know a little bit Of what Christ felt that day As He hung on the cross, despised and rejected Dying to take our sins away
When love has been your motivation To push yourself to work hard and do Those things that are hard you do anyway Because love gets you through
But when your motive is questioned By the one you've done it for You find that it hurts deeper It wounds, it scars, it tears you even more
Than all those things that you did That caused temporary pain Because the heartache is harder to heal Its hard to see the sunshine through the rain
The clouds of doubt that are brought on By that one that matters most Ca…
