According Unto Thy Word

“Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.” Psalm 119:65-66
Sometimes I can’t see how But I know Your promises are true I cannot understand it all now But I will wholly rely on You
Your way is good for me I’ve seen Your hand at work I will simply rest and trust in Thee No matter what evils around me lurk
You have of old time been faithful and true You are the same now as You were then You don’t change; a strong defense are You To all those who trust that the battle You’ll win
My mind may grow weary My heart faint and weak But no matter how dreary I draw strength when You speak
Your words renew and refresh me My heart with joy they fill Wherever the road of life takes me I’m confident, You will be present still
This promise that You will never leave Gives me courage to go on for You In spite of any hindrances the devil may heave I must do what You have for me to do

Confident Hope

“The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer.” Psalm 6:9 KJV
How could David who wrote this Psalm be so confident? How bold it is to assume and confidently know that God has heard one’s prayer! How sure he must have been to be able to say that ‘the Lord WILL receive my prayer’! How did he obtain such confidence?
1)Personal familiarity with the promises of God. He was grounded in the word. He spent time with God daily. He had developed a personal relationship with God.
2) Past fulfillment of the promises of God. David had seen God work in his own life time and again. He was no stranger to the trials and troubles of life, but he had seen God’s hand at work. He had experienced the providential care, the practical applications, and the proven techniques God had used to mold him into His image. He saw God keep His word. He experienced the promises of God fulfilled in the past, and that kept him confident that he would see it again.
3) Personal faith in the promises of…

The Goodness of God

When my way is bright and clear and the future holds success…God is good!
When my life holds disappointments and distress…God is good!
When the way is dark and the future looks bleak with no hope in sight…God is still good!
When His way makes sense, and I’m rejoicing in the blessings He has heaped upon me…God is good!
When I am unsure of His plan and it’s hard to understand the trials of life…God is still good!
Whether good or bad comes my way…
Whether I am happy or sad, full or empty…
Whether the sun is shining, or darkness covers my way…
Whether in calmness, or in the midst of the trial of my faith…
Whether in peace or pain;
I can smile and say…God is good!
The goodness He has bestowed on me has already far surpassed what I deserve.  He owes me nothing.  I deserve nothing.  Everything I have, He gave to me.  His goodness is far greater than mere words can describe.  His goodness reaches even to the Heavens.  He is wonderful!  God is good!
“Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou ha…

With My Whole Heart

Psalm 119:58-60, “I entreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word. I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.”

When we seek God with our whole heart, it will cause us to think on our ways. When we see in His word that our ways are wrong, we should not ignore the conviction of the Holy Spirit, but repent, turning unto God. This is something we should do the moment He convicts us. We should not put it off. We are wise not to delay, but instead hasten to obey His commandments.

The sign that a man Walks with God is him responding to the Word of God, obeying the Woo of God, and thus keeping the Ways of God.

A tender heart that is Sensitive to God’s leading, Steadfast in obeying God’s word, and Surrendered to God’s will for their life, is indeed a blessed soul in tune with his Maker!

So many times we as human beings ignore, or shrug off God’s conviction of some sin in our life. We t…

Filling the Void

John 6:35, “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”
There is within the soul of every man a hungering and thirsting. Many try to fill this void with immoral living (drugs, alcohol, illegitimate physical/emotional relationships, etc.). Many who have tried this can testify that this kind of lifestyle does not fill the void, but merely covers it up with a few brief moments of sinful pleasure that really eats and gnaws at their inward man, causing the void to grow even larger. Jesus understood this principle. He knew what was in the heart of man.
John 2:24-25, “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, and needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”
He knew that there was a need in every man and woman that only God could fulfill. That need was what Jesus was referring to in our text verse, John, 6:35. A hungering for the truth and a thi…
