Lord, Lord

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Matthew 7:21-23

Many claim the name of Christ
But rarely do His will
They come to church only twice a year
But claim to be members still

They say they love God and bear His name
Then live any way they please
They want a ticket to Heaven
On a flowery bed of ease

But the truth is, this narrow road
Is one of trials and tests
It is a process of learning and cleansing
And not a party to make you ‘feel your best’

Jesus said that if you call Him Lord
Yet don’t obey His commands
Without a doubt your works declare
That there was no repentance which salvation demands

Just calling Him Lord does not save your soul
You must accept His gift of love
Repent of your sins under conviction deep
And trust only in His Blood

Living right or doing good
Will never get you in
There is but ONE way to Heaven’s gates
And it is through Faith in Him

Faith in Jesus death on the cross
His burial, and rising again
Conviction of sin, and true repentance
Is how we can enter in

For the kingdom of God is one of Faith
Without Faith you can’t please God
We must believe in His love for us
And His perfect cleansing Blood

His arms stand open awaiting you next
As he calls, and is Oh so ready to give
“Come unto me, and accept my gift
I died that you might live.”

“Let me have your all, your hopes, and dreams
Watch my Will for you unfold
For never once will I leave you nor forsake
You are more precious to me than gold”

“I gave my life to ransom you
And paid sins aweful price.”
Oh, do answer Him with open heart
For He may not offer twice!
