Look and Live

January 28, 2018

Lean and learn, look and live
All my worries to Him I'll give
For the answers I will read
And His words, I'll strive to heed
For I know not what is best
But His knowledge has passed the test
Within His care I safely yield
He is my strength, He is my shield
Oh forgive me, Lord, I pray
For not trusting You each day
Give me strength to do Your will
And my mind with peace now fill

Note from the Author:
Thank God for providing us a written copy of His Word, the KJV Bible. We can read His words and apply them to our lives. He has the answers for all of life's questions if we but take time to ask and listen. God's Word has passed the test of time, and continues to strengthen believers today. Thank God for His Word!

Real Christians

“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19 (KJV)
Something I have seen over and over as I deal with lost people regarding things of God, is that they know “Christians” who are no different than themselves. They go to the same parties. They drink the same boos. They smoke just as much. Their language is no different than the average Joe. There is no noticeable difference in the way these “Christians” act and how the lost person acts. This is a serious misrepresentation of the name “Christian.” And in nearly all of these cases, the so-called “Christians” they are referring to are people who claim the name of Christ but are not truly regenerated. I am an American. I love America. I am proud to be called an American, but our nation is definitely full of people who are confused as to what it means to be a “Christian.” There are people of all …

Quality not Quantity of Accomplishment

How can I make this day worthwhile? My broken body refuses much physical labor. My constantly exhausted mind refuses much thought. My desire screams for me to do More, More, More! ...yet, a restful period is inevitable. Like most days, I will probably do much less than what I would like to accomplish. But what really matters? Does quantity of accomplishments matter, or quality? If all I do today is care for my family in a motherly way as God's Word commands, I have accomplished something of high quality. If I share the gospel with only one soul today, still that is a great accomplishment because it bears Heavenly treasure. If I find myself restricted or bedridden and all I can do is pray for others who are doing the work, this may be the greatest accomplishment yet!
For but one hour of heartfelt prayer can accomplish far more than a days worth of physical labor in the work of Christ. This world needs more prayer warriors who are willing to push their pain, frustration, and desire …

He is my Life

Weak am I.

My strength is small.

My ability to pick myself up and go on is faulty.

No amount of positive thoughts can change this.

For I am a vile sinner.

I do wrong.

My good is not good enough.

My efforts could never earn me forgiveness of sin.

There is but One way to find this.

Jesus Christ is the only way.

He is my hope.

He is my strength and help.

He is my righteousness, forgiveness and hope.

Without Him, I would not be.

Without Him, I can't.

He is enough.

He is all I need.

He is my life.

Thanks be to God

Thanks be to God who strengthens me each day
To up and run my race, in spite of the struggles I face
For it is only through Him who guides my way
And the daily load of benefits He bestows through grace

Though my body may ache and suffer pain
He my steps infuse
With joy and hope of Heaven's sweet peace,
My soul He won't refuse

His blood He shed on Calvary to buy back my soul from sin
What a price He paid, my soul doth even now rejoice in this!
I've accepted His love and received His grace, He abides within
And one day I will experience Heaven's bliss

No more pain, no more fear, no more death or sinfulness
No more sorrows, no more struggles, no more sick
No more anxious awaiting, no more days of temptation's awfulness
Hallelujah! these symptoms of sinful flesh will no longer afflict

For God in righteousness doth reign, wicked sinners to reclaim
Providing the way to Heaven above, through His mercy, through His love
Interceding on our behalf is Jesus Christ who took G…
